Extended Family is a community-based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization which provides support to families of prisoners with the mission of offering help and inspiring hope.  We fulfill our mission by being available to family members who are facing the daily challenges of having a loved one incarcerated, whether it is the adults who are managing lives and households while their loved one is away, or the kids left behind to make sense of their new normal, and who are sometimes carrying the stigma and the guilt of having a parent or other family member in jail or prison.  We do this in many different ways and would like to have the opportunity to come and meet you and speak to your organization about the benefits of bringing Extended Family programs into your community.

Extended Family values the partnerships we make across the nation.  Our staff members are always willing to visit new communities and talk about what we do and work with community leaders, schools, community organizations, non-profits, and others who are interested in providing immediate support and relief to families struggling with incarceration and how to help families be successful and, hopefully, ultimately break the cycle.

We have presentations to fit your group’s needs!  Every community is affected by the impact of incarceration.  Our programs are evidence-based and have been proven to improve the lives of the families, particularly the children, involved.  We can help you better understand and reach this underserved segment of our society.

If you are interested in having us come and speak to your group, contact Extended Family through our website at www.extendedfamilyhelp.org, or by calling 256-927-3038.
