Extended Family Leadership Academy (EFLA) offers many benefits to high school students.  Seniors have the opportunity to apply for scholarships through EFLA and also to attend our annual “Business Attire Shopping Spree” to learn how to “Dress for Success.”  During the shopping spree, the guys shopped for suits, ties, dress shirts, and other accessories like belts and dress socks.  Girls purchased blazers, either slacks or a skirt, blouses, shoes, and jewelry.

Several seniors from different schools and juvenile diversion programs registered to attend and were fitted for business attire with help from Extended Family staff and volunteers.  The new outfits helped prepare the students for upcoming job interviews and gave them an added boost of confidence knowing that they have professional business attire for when they need it.

The shopping spree supported local retailers, and the sales staffs went above and beyond to help Our Kids find exactly the right look to highlight each senior’s personality and style.  This shopping spree project was supported by Subgrant #2024-JF-C1-56 awarded by the Law Enforcement/Traffic Safety Division of ADECA and the U.S. Department of Justice.  We were excited to be able to spend this time with Our Kids and enjoyed seeing each one find their perfect look.

Extended Family Leadership Academy is proud to offer great benefits to students who are working to be successful in high school and planning for their futures.  For more information about EFLA and our other programs, please visit our website, www.extendedfamilyhelp.org, and see how we are fulfilling our mission, “To offer help and inspire hope,” one child at a time.
