Our annual fall fundraiser has begun and we are so thankful for everyone who has contributed or plans to contribute funds to support Extended Family programs. We are experiencing tremendous growth and are excited to be able to offer our programs and services to more people who need them. Our staff is currently leading more than forty groups for hundreds of children in grades K-12 in schools and juvenile diversion programs. We could not serve the number of students we have enrolled without the financial help of our supporters.
In addition to the programs we offer for children, we receive calls from adult family members of prisoners from across the nation and provide one-to-one support, answering questions and helping them locate services in their community. When people reach out to Extended Family, they are able to speak with someone who has the shared experience of having an incarcerated loved one. The continued contributions of our generous donors ensure that these family members will not have to walk this journey alone.
To Extended Family, growing means being able to offer our programs to every family member who needs them, wherever they are. Our goals are to break the cycle of incarceration in families, prevent recidivism after release from prison, and to prevent children from entering the juvenile justice system. With your help, we can continue our work toward meeting our goals.
