Kathy Faircloth joined Extended Family in February 2021 in the role of Extended Family for Kids Assistant & Program Leader. She brings decades of educational experience to the Extended Family team. In 1989, Kathy and her husband, Pat, purchased land in Woodstock, GA and built Park View Montessori School with a capacity for 185 children. Over 26 years, with Kathy as director/owner, thousands of children ages 6 weeks – 6 years were introduced to individualized lessons teaching peace and a love of learning. After retiring to live on Weiss Lake in 2018, Kathy saw Laure and Jerry Clemons give presentations on the Extended Family for Kids Program at several Cherokee County community club meetings. “Their message touched my heart, and I signed up for EFK Leader Training ASAP!”, Kathy said. “The nine lessons presented to children with an incarcerated loved one give them the tools they will need for this difficult chapter in their lives…and beyond.” In her role as EFK Assistant & Program Leader, Kathy leads EFK Groups in Cherokee County Schools, assists in EFK Leadership in other counties, maintains and updates EFK documentation, and prepares supplies for EFK Lessons. Kathy also assists with data collection and entry. This data will give us a clearer picture on the effectiveness of EFK programs and the impact lessons have on students.
