Extended Family is pleased to announce the addition of an Assistant Director to our staff.  Daphne Rogers, who has served as Communications Director and Program Leader, has been selected to fill this position, which will include continuing to lead programs for children, leading Program Leader Training classes, writing grants, assisting with curriculum development, and assisting Executive Director Laure Clemons with other management tasks.

The need for the addition of an Assistant Director speaks to the overwhelming growth Extended Family has experienced in the last few years.  Our children’s programs, Extended Family for Kids (EFK) and Extended Leadership Academy (ELA) continue to spread into communities across the state and nation, reaching at-risk children and providing them with skills they need to be successful.  Our adult support services, such as the Resource Guide and Helpful Hints pages on our website, are utilized daily by family members with incarcerated loved ones from all over the country.  Our newest outreach effort, Extended Success for Life, which gives support to those who are completing their prison sentences and returning to their homes and communities, has begun and we are beginning to work with men who are “returning citizens” to help them dream, learn, and live.

Daphne Rogers, like all of our staff members, has a passion for helping adults and children to become the best version of themselves, understanding that strong individuals build strong communities.  Extended Family is an excellent example of how much good can be done to enhance the lives of the sometimes underserved in our communities and our team of staff and volunteers is proud to be part of making the world better.

The dream of Extended Family to serve as a support system for families of prisoners is a living and growing beacon of light and we look forward to many more years of service in communities across our nation.  For more information, please visit our website, www.extendedfamilyhelp.org.  Together, we are offering help and inspiring hope!
